DETAILS The "Revised Scheme For Incentives To Milk Producers" was launched by the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Government of Goa. The scheme aims to develop the Dairy sector and make Goa self-sufficient in milk production by encouraging farmers to engage in dairy business, thereby making it more lucrative and increasing local milk production. The applications for this scheme are accepted through the respective Veterinary Dispensary/Hospital via the registered cooperative society/group, which submits monthly reports for payment processing. BENEFITS A composite subsidy amounting to 40% (forty percent) of the proceeds of milk supplied to the Dairy Co-operative Society/Bachat Gat/Self Help Group. Incentive on milk: 32.28% (thirty-two point two eight percent). Incentive on cattle feed: 7.72% (seven point seven two percent). The scheme is linked to the cattle feed subsidy scheme. Disbursement Monthly disbursement of benefits to beneficiary's Bank account via Electronic Clearing System (ECS). The beneficiary must have a Bank account in any Bank having a core banking system/Electronic Clearing System (ECS). Mandatory Obligations The beneficiary must produce their own milk at their Dairy Farm. The beneficiary must not procure milk from others and pour it to the Dairy Co-operative Society/Bachat Gat/Self Help Group in their name. The quantity of milk supplied and the number of milch animals reared by the farmers will be checked by the departmental area officer in addition to the supervisor/officials from the concerned organization. In case of any fraud or malpractice regarding milk supply or animal count, the Department shall stop the composite subsidy (incentive on milk and feed) forthwith. If fraud or malpractice occurs, the benefit of all schemes will be withdrawn. In matters of fraud or malpractice, the decision of the Director will be final and binding on the party. ELIGIBILITY The applicant must be a farmer from Goa. The applicant must be a bona fide resident of Goa for at least the preceding five years. The applicant must be a member of the Dairy Co-operative Society/Bachat Gat/Self Help Group registered with the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services. The applicant must register their Dairy Farm with the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services through the respective Veterinary Dispensary/Hospital. The applicant must own a cattle shed with milch animals. The applicant must produce their own milk (and not procure milk from others then pour it to the group/society in their name). The applicant must be mandatorily registered with the Agricultural Department, as an Agriculturist under the Agricultural Database. Exclusions The applicant must not procure milk from others and pour it to the Dairy Co-operative Society/Bachat Gat/Self Help Group in his name.
