DETAILS The scheme "Providing Latest Technology to Group of Pottery Artisans (Energy Efficient Kiln)" by the Gujarat Matikam Kalakari & Rural Technology Institute, Industries & Mines Department, Government of Gujarat, aims to provide latest technology and equipment to pottery artisans for better productivity, improved quality and reduce health risks. The scheme provides 100% financial assistance on development of the kiln with unit cost of ₹83,000/- and energy-efficient furnaces to groups of registered clay artisans and potters. The applicant must be directly involved in the pottery business and be in the age group of 18 to 58 years, with at least 800 to 1000 square feet of open space available for pottery business. The scheme is implemented by the relevant Gujarat State Government Department and applications are accepted through prescribed application forms with required details and certificates. BENEFITS Financial Assistance: 100% financial assistance is provided on development of the kiln with unit cost of ₹83,000/-. Technology Provision: Energy-efficient furnaces are provided to improve productivity and quality. Health Benefits: Reduced health risks for pottery artisans through improved technology. Mode and Frequency of Disbursement The assistance will be given only in the form of an energy saving furnace. No assistance related to the kiln will be paid in cash. Conditions for Availment/Continuation The energy-saving furnace must be used only for pottery business. Beneficiaries must send a report about the utility of the furnace to the organization every 3 months after the furnace is ready. Cost of maintenance and repair of the furnace must be borne by the beneficiaries at their own expense after construction and installation. Misuse of the furnace will result in legal action by the institute. ELIGIBILITY The applicant must be registered clay artisans and potters eligible for the scheme on 100% subsidy basis. The applicant must be directly involved in the pottery business and carry out pottery activity. The applicant must be in the age group of 18 to 58 years. The applicant must be part of a group doing at least 2 (two) pottery. The applicant must have at least 800 to 1000 square feet of open space in their own rent lease or for at least five years on the date on which they apply for pottery business. The applicant must be associated with pottery in the state of Gujarat only. Post-Selection Conditions The applicant must adhere to the policy rules of the institute as well as the norms regarding the construction of the kiln. The applicant must use the energy-saving furnace only for pottery business. The applicant must compulsorily use the energy-saving furnace as per the guarantee letter given unanimously.
