DETAILS The scheme “Construction of Solar Pump-Based Lift Irrigation Projects (For Hilly Areas)” was launched by the Department of Minor Irrigation, Government of Uttarakhand. It is a 100% state government-funded scheme. BENEFITS Under this scheme, farmers will be provided with free irrigation facilities. In hilly areas, irrigation facilities is made available by constructing solar-powered lift irrigation projects on agricultural lands located at high altitudes, where providing irrigation through canals or pipelines is not feasible. ELIGIBILITY The beneficiary must be a resident of Uttarakhand. The beneficiary must be a farmer engaged in agricultural activities. Collective irrigation projects will be constructed under the project. The project cost must not exceed ₹4.00 lakh per hectare, and the benefit-cost ratio must be greater than 1.0. The project is to be implemented specifically in hilly areas.
