Under the state-sponsored Integrated Fisheries Development Scheme (IFDS), the Telangana Fisheries Department supplies fish seed and prawn juveniles on a 100% grant for stocking reservoirs, departmental tanks and gram-panchayat tanks (Telangana was the first state to give a 100% grant for stocking geotagged open water bodies) — around 90 crore fishlings a year across 26,000+ water bodies. The scheme also subsidises fishing inputs (two/four-wheeler and mobile fish-vending units, transport vehicles, nets, kiosks, weighing machines). Infrastructure components (fish ponds, rearing ponds, hatcheries, RAS) under the Blue Revolution / PMMSY carry 40% subsidy for General and 60% for SC/ST/Women. Delivered mainly through fisheries cooperative societies.
